Different Types of Pirates

Lets talk about the different types of pirates from yesteryear.
Pirate has become the general term used by most people today to call someone who sails the seas and commits crimes. But other names were used to help identify particular pirates from different geographical areas through the ages.
A privateer was legally commissioned by a body, typically a government, to help them harass or attack another government. A buccaneer would have been French or English around the 17th century, living on the island of Hispaniola, attacking the Spanish. A French buccaneer may also have been called a freebooter.
A Barbary corsair was a name given by the French to Muslim pirates that sailed along the North African and Mediterranean coasts.
Pirates got their big start in the warm seas around Greece, where they raided merchants and were used by the warring countries and city-states against each other. At one time pirates were even used by the city-states as tax collectors due to the fact that so many people feared the pirates.
France, Spain and England fought back and forth with each other many times through the years with pirates and privateers playing huge roles in the outcomes of sea battles and wars. Pirates could often prove so successful as to bring an entire navy to its knees or to steal government treasure or disrupt trade so badly as to bankrupt a country.
Many times though countries or governments would ban together to help each other rid themselves of pirate infestations.
Pirates are known for creating the first true individual democracy in which every man had a vote or say. The buccaneers established this code in rebellion against their harsh treatment from former countries. Breaking agreed upon rules was dealt with harshly as a means to enforcing their own laws or code.
Pirates around this time in the early to mid 1600’s also established rules to take care of their own by compensation if they were injured or lost a body part.
Piracy could be a hard life, dangerous and deadly but it was often preferable to the navy of the day. You could potentially get better pay, better food be treated better and have a say in decisions.
It would not be unusual for a pirate who had spent months at sea, to collect his share of the treasure and then spend all of his money in a single night or two of excessive pleasure.

What To Eat To Get Six Pack Abs

Is it really true that you need a “perfect diet” to get 6 pack abs? You often hear people say that 80% of getting a lean body and a ripped midsection is your diet and mindset.
This isn’t what fitness trainers are just taught to say in fitness school. It’s a fact. If you don’t eat properly and follow a controlled plan, it is highly unlikely that you’ll ever achieve the coveted 6 pack.
Some people completely freak out when they hear this. They will often impose limiting beliefs where they say “I can’t NOT eat my favorite XYZ”. While other people go way over board and go on a restricted low-carb diet and cut out nearly all fats from their diet. Carb cutting and reducing your fat intake isn’t the answer since it can hinder your progress.
The truth about abs is that you need to be concentrating on is a lifestyle change where you eat a balanced diet with both carbs, fat and lean proteins - several times per day, and also consume enough water four to eight 8oz glasses per day. There seem to be a lot of confusion as to what needs to be consumed to get a lean muscular body.
What are the basic food groups that you need to concentrate on?
Lean Proteins - This will aid in building and repairing muscle. And the more muscle you have, the more calories you burn (more fat gets burned). Lean Proteins would be things like chicken, fish and turkey. Other sources would be beans and lentils, eggs, tofu and cottage cheese.
Complex Carbohydrates - whole wheat bread, beans (not refried beans), oatmeal (which also contains protein), whole wheat pasta, wild and brown rice\Complex Carbs - These are carbohydarates with a low glycemic index. Just about anything whole wheat is good, like whole wheat pasta, bread, waffles etc…. in other words, anything whole wheat.
Fats - this is complicated since a lot of food already contain fats. You would want to focus on eating foods with natural fats (both Omega 3 and Omega 6). Some other options for fats that you can add to your diet are: oils (olive / flax seed); avocados, almonds and peanuts (as well as other nuts).
Fruits - Since fruits are high in carbohydrates we want to limit the consumption a bit (even though it’s good for you). Now everybody have their favorites, but some great fruits to consume are: citrus, like grapefruit and oranges in particular, grapes, apples, pears, bananas (limit this to a small banana), strawberries and the list goes on.
Finally, before I wrap this up, here’s a piece of friendly advice: TOSS THE JUNK FOOD!
Just make a promise to yourself that you will not eat any junk until you get your 6 pack abs. When you’ve achieved your goal there’s no way you’d want to put that junk into your body anyway. Here’s one final tip: If you believe it’s junk, it is.
